Vultures 1 album review

Heeeeeeesssss Baaaaaaaccckkkk! That’s what that intro tapped into as soon as Ye says “This that… GLORY!” You could feel the effort put into having made something this sonically perfect!

Okay I could be dick riding, pause, and putting my cape on for Ye and anyone rightfully so considering how scrutinized and ridiculed he is over media for headlines and clicks… if anyone was to forumlate their own opinions of him without the influence of media you’d see someone who just seeks freedom! And that seeking for freedom was felt throughout the album!

One of my favorite tracks is “Back to Me” with the wonderful line “Beautiful Butt Naked Big Titty Women just don’t fall out the sky you know” the percussion on this track and the energy of ty dolla singing a smooth ass hook! Then towards the end you have Freddie Gibbs spitting BARS over the infectious production… it’s a recipe of feel good meets hip hop and I love it! It’s most def a vibe worth checking out.

Another major standout, CARNIVAL, featuring Rich The Kid and Plaboi Carti is worth a solid listen through a well crafted sound system! Yoi’re greeted with a crowd chasing “Go Go Go Go…” then during the chant a bass synth is added giving a monstrous profile through the sound system. It’s an experience you have to try with the sound at maximum! My Sonos system sounds like a stadium playing this one.

The album as a whole felt very close to when we went to see Ye live with Drake in Cali a few years ago and the sound system was so incredible!!! He performed all the hits and the way that felt this album fits perfectly!! It’s the grown up Travis album and like i said… production Ye is Back for sure!!!!!

10/10 great album!

My kinda #Verzuz

Okay here’s my list of epic #verzuz starting with a doozie…

1.) Jay-Z vs Drake 😱

I think a celebration of passing the blueprint torch from Hov to Drake would be Incredible. The mogul moves, the bars, and the shots they take at each other in rap… it would be nice But that leads us perfectly to who would have something to say about that…

2.) Lil Wayne vs Jay-Z 😱😱

As we all remember Jay-Z (my favorite of all time) on the song Mr Carter (🗣WHICH WOULD MAKE AN IMCREDIBLE OPENING SONG) said “As I spend my time with my heir” speaking on Wayne. Them getting to show love to one another as goats in rap would be phenomenal… but the only thing about these two are that they don’t have the “Kumbyaa” ce together moment we all want out here in hip hop and the balck community soo… that leads to number 3

3.) Jay-Z vs Kanye West 😱😱😱

THIS WOULD BE EPIC AF!! TALK ABOUT A SET LIST AND ALL THE TENSION AND DRAMA AND LOVE AND KING SHIT!!!!

Okay now that I am finally finished geeking out. The obvious is… well… fuckinh obvious! Jay-Z and Kanye aren’t as close publicly as they use to be. Kanye is going through life shit. Hov is bog bro. The love they have for one another. The creative vibes they had. Sheesh. It would be epic.

The only other tantalizingly epic verzuz would be…

Drum roll please

4.) DRAKE VS. KANYE 😱😱😱😱

WHAT MORE SHOULD BE SAID… Drake and Kanye celebrating their catalogs would tap into a set list that could encompas also all tge genres on music. Their catalog is that extensive and that crazy. Plus the drama off the court… well off the hip hop metaphorical court… is still unraveling slowly and they need a healing in their relationship for hip hops sake…

Now for the biggest verzuz I could think of… and this would take healing to another level like for all of EARTH.

5.) CHRIS BROWN VS. RHIANNA 😱😱😱😱😱🔥🚀

THIS IS SOMETHING THE WORLD HASNT SEEN SINCE MIKE AND JANET HAD POP ON LOCK!

THE WORLD NEEDS THIS SONICALLY. THAT SET LIST WOULD BE WILD AF!! Aaahhhgggg 😱😱😱🤯

So yeah just imagine what kind of healing the world could enjoy with songs being done from these two juggernaut performers in a celebratory concert. Healing the world with their eclectic vibes. Sheesh and to see them be cordial and cool would be dope too. Not sure if either are even in a space for that but sonically speaking for the WHOLE FCKIN WORLD that probably would break the internet 🤔😳😱🤯

Anywho let me know what you think. Like comment and subscribe to the Mafia.

Ty dolla $Ign self titled album Ty$

Screenshot_20201027-082752_TIDAL.jpg

“Who tf mixed this?? What an amazing experience it is to hear an album where the songs seamlessly blend into one another. I find that shit delightful af!”

Literally my first impressions of the album from the sounds used in the beats to the overall sound of the mix it felt like an evolved Ty.

One line that stood out and perfectly describes how I feel about TY myself “Ye said Ty your too talented to be on that generic shit”

I mean the man taught Dj Mustard Producing and look where that man is production wise! Then the company that Ty keeps is like a list of super talented heros of music. KANYE YOUNG THUG FUTURE JOHN MAYRE 6LACK BURNA BOY DAMIAN MARLEY BIG SEAN JHENE AIKO… honestly a list of people who changed the musical landscape and language in music. Whether a cadence or just reaching to expose a deeper meaning and connection to the universe the audience and the music itself.

Speaking of his talents, its also a breath of fresh air to hear Ty open up more deeply on positive topics! Its sprinkled throughout the album but mostly towards the end you can hear the emotions in the inflections of his voice. Its a more passionate than the hunger vibes of earlier albums. Its like the hunger is there but he went deeper to shed more introspective on some vividly expressed topics.

I love the messages behind this album about Love & Sex, Family & Friends, Respect, and Moralities compass. (Its an amazing experience in master quality on tidal… gives it such a sound wall profile thats sure to bless your speakers and your ears with the right set up that is!)

The guitar strums, vocal presence and clarity on “your turn” is equally as lovely as the trapped out bass hitting melody of track 2 “Status”.

A few of my favorite tracks that really stood out to me are

Status, track 6, universe, Tyrone 2021, Real Life, slow it down, lift me up, dr. sebi, powder blue, and your turn!

Hope yall can enjoy this wonderfully made album mixed down by the album finishing gods! Its truly what stands out most is how well its been put together!

Wonderful work dolla!!

The good vibes mafia

Who doesn't like an old inspiring theme wrapped around a new and innovative vibe.

I present to you The Vibe Mafia.

*clears throat*

The goal of any outing, whether its with family, friends, coworkers, or a bunch of randos, the goal is to enjoy some good ass vibes.

I know exactly what you're thinking… (what is this guy talking about) so i’ ll explain more in depth below with some scenarios that better describe these MAFIA VIBRATIONS

Imagine, if you will, yourself in this scenario

Walking up to the door of a friends/ family kick back event (a tad late because who are we kidding… the vibe is never early… just always on time! Shout out to Ashanti). The music playing with requests to the Playlist and an “Ayeeeee!” capping the top of a great song selection… chatter filling the gaps that music bass and laughter leave… feeling the hype intensify as the door creeps open… only to hear… “OH, 💩… look who crept in…” pausing the party for what feels like an awkward eternity… but right on cue a new song drops, a drink is spilled and a poor table is smacked with a bone sending more than a spade to the floor… another “Ayeeeee!!” hits the ceiling and cascades the walls…

So many different vibes in this situation its hard to break them all down…

So instead we would rather have you comment which area you can be found in this party after you walk in or comment what you feel is missing from the party?

Welcome to the Vibe Mafia

J. Cole KOD

This Album is AMAZING AF!!

Nick Hud Rating of 5 out of 5

J. Cole  is one of my favorite artists (Probably number 2 to HOV in hip hop music). He always speaks perfectly to the life I seem to be living. From paying back loans in sideline story to dealing with relationship issues while simultaneously growing a brand in kevins heart. I seem to always relate to the real he spits.

When your first press play on the album you're immediately drawn in to an idea that a lot of people are suffereing and using things (whether it be money, herbs, attention, women, drugs, Religion, alcohol,.. or any other vice) to get through life but we must choose wisely. The rhetoric used speaks from someone teetering on the edge of falling into the trap or already being in the trap of life. Using misguided teachings from parents, pastors, and people to make your decisions in life, and after listening, I feel enlightened to make the right choices in life on a different level. A lot of us pick the easy choice over the uncomfortable growing, disciplined choices in life.

Hearing Cole tap dance lyrics of conscious wokeness across trap patterned elegance creates a vibe of let me party and feel something when I listen to these rhymes. Showing his ability to be in any trap pocket you can think of (whether its migos or 21 savage) while delivering stories of real life struggles no matter your tax bracket truly shows how aware and connected Cole is.

Overall this album is a must listen, and deserves, at the very least, a nomination for a grammy (but we know that's not happening since the academy hasn't let go of Kendrick's nuts Lmao). Just kidding but seriously its an amazing project worth a couple hundred streams per person.

More Love, More Vibes, More Life,

Nick

New Mix Alert

I made a KILLER MIX to start the summer off right!! In this mix I made sure to balance a vibe with the culture of who I am as Nick the culturally diverse Caribbean kid from Little Rock, Arkansas. This mix balances Hip hop, Reggae, Dancehall, R&B, Jersey Club, and Trap. With sprinklings of my own remixes to pop songs like Slide, Shape of you, Oh Na Na, and many more. Creative intros and pure vibery. (Yeah I made that word up but it fits)  Do yourself a favor and get your escape from regular with a mix that travels.

Many people have no idea about the process behind a mix of mine but when I do nickstapes (catchy right) I end up telling a story with my song choices and word play. This particular mix is a story of a group of people on vacation in the Caribbean with some friends who aren't trying to kick it. There's a beach party going on and you tell your friends lets go. Get there the vibes are nice and you see someone there who intrigues you. You muster up the courage to slide up on them and get a dance in after feeling the party out. Once you two connect, things heat up and it feels as if its just the two of you at this party. Then reality hits and you realize it is a party around you two. Your friends and their friends come and party with you two,  and everyone ends up having the dopest night of their lives.  That's really just a very brief summary of what the story is so you can fill in the blanks and imagine your own detailed experiences to the mix.

Big shouts to Dj E-Feezy, Dj Khaled, Dj Puffy, Scratch Bastid, Craze, and all the other dj's that inspire me to be crative and dope!! Beat Junkies, Dj City, Mp3Waxx and the random emails I receive with music, Thank You!!

Hope you guys enjoy TF out of the mix!!

Disaster Avoided!!

Ever been in a situation where you're ready to set up and kill it at a show, plug everything up, balance your needles, set it on the record, and get no SOUND!!!! Well, luckily I never went through that problem at an event because it happened at home during a podcast set. (so it was almost as bad but no one could see the frustration on my face lol).

I own a pair of technics 1210 mk2s that are probably as old as I am, or a few years younger lol. A couple days before I noticed my right side rca plug was a little loose griping the terminal. I would have to plug it in just right in order to have a balanced clean signal, but I knew I would need to replace the cables soon. I just never thought It would be today.

I went to guitar center and purchased the best cables they had with (the most important part) screw down connectors. They were significantly thicker than the originals but I needed something that would be less likely to short or break.

After the operation, It works like a charm!!

Big shout out to my dad for teaching me when I was younger, how to solder by having me hand him the tools. THANKS DAD!!!

Drakes More Life

"One Of The Best Albums I've Heard This Year!!" is pretty much how I would rate the album. From the intro with a melodic gospel sounding duet to Drake letting them know "More Chuune For your Head Top so what how you speak on my Name" I knew this album would be something special!. Free smoke sets the mood with straight BARS narrating the path he walked to get where he is in a cocky "HOV" manner which I myself can appreciate! (Being I'm a BIG Jay-Z fan)

The way Drake features rappers and singers from across the map really shows how diversified his mind and hopes for hip hop has gone. House music is what Ebro said drake brought back and when he said that it made me think to myself... House Music: like a Sunday afternoon, widows up for a cool breeze and fresh air as you clean up the house. THIS is that type of house music

With Reggae Vibes and African undertones he hits the target square on with Get it Together Madiba Riddim and Blem. Really showcasing the diversity of culture that he has especially in Canada (With its second largest Jamaican population).

Let's not forget the club bangers he has on the album as well. Songs featuring 2 chainz, Young Thug, Quavo, and Travis Scott are perfectly placed on the album giving you that much needed groove and bounce you come to love when your in a party. I will definitely be playing these this weekend in the Clubs and day parties.

All in all its refreshing to have a quality album with more than 12 songs on it! Giving you multiple vibes blended perfectly together. Its an Album for those who enjoy culture and vibes! Start to finish its a must have in any collection.  I give this album a 9/10

In all honesty I'd give it a 10 out of 10 but I left one point off for you all who will say its "not that good" that point is for yall lol. enjoy it.

Bold claim: More Life will be nominated for a grammy!! (Because it is that good)

THAT NEW WAVE

Ever since I started djing all I ever wanted to do was be dope.  I always got excited when the dj would play a new track that was just released. It made the party that much hotter. Had you thinking "man this dj has to be elite getting exclusives like that," but sadly nowadays djs play whats already hot. I wonder if they are scared to play a new record... or maybe its because they aren't well connected these days and download their music from youtube urls..... #noBeef . All I know is I feel like I'm one of the few djs left who still cares about breaking a new record on an unsuspecting crowd and helping give people that new wave!!
